The Chao Phraya River is set to come alive once more with the Royal Barge Procession, where everyone can witness the grandeur of this majestic fleet—a priceless cultural heritage of Thailand—honoring His Majesty the King on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty's 72nd birthday.
The Royal Barge Procession is a sacred ceremony reflecting Thailand's rich history and long-standing traditions. The procession features over 50 royal barges, including the royal barges itself, adorned with intricate and exquisite designs. Each barge is meticulously crafted, showcasing the exceptional skills of Thai artisans that have been passed down through generations.
Witnessing this royal ceremony is not only an opportunity to admire the beauty of the river and the majestic barges but also a chance to express pride in Thai heritage, which has been preserved and cherished to this day.
For those wishing to see the grandeur of the procession, full-dress rehearsals will be held on October 15 and 22, 2024, starting at 3:00 PM along the Chao Phraya River from Rama VIII Bridge to Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan, offering a complete and perfect simulation of the royal procession.
This significant royal ceremony will take place in full splendor on October 27, 2024.
