Thailand Partners with World Justice Project to Strengthen Rule of Law Leadership for OECD Accession

The Thailand Institute of Justice (TIJ), in collaboration with the World Justice Project (WJP), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the Rule of Law and Development (RoLD) Network, has launched the Thailand Rule of Law Leadership Programme 2026: Driving Competitiveness and OECD Readiness. Running from July to October 2026 at the TIJ in Bangkok, the programme aims to develop executives who will play a key role in advancing national reform and supporting Thailand’s readiness to meet the standards of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). It brings together 77 participants, comprising senior executives from both the public and private sectors, to exchange knowledge and experience while fostering collaborative networks to drive the country’s sustainable development.

The OECD is an internationally recognized organization that serves as a global benchmark for good governance and public policy, offering more than 450 legal instruments and standards that help countries identify structural gaps and guide administrative reforms, in line with international best practices.

For Thailand, preparing for the OECD accession represents a significant opportunity to strengthen public sector governance by enhancing transparency, efficiency, and accountability. Aligning with OECD standards will help reinforce investor and business confidence, improve the country’s ability to attract high-quality investment, support sustainable economic growth, and improve the long-term well-being and quality of life of its people.

The programme serves as a platform for learning and knowledge exchange among leaders from the public sector, private sector, civil society, and academia. It aims to deepen participants’ understanding of the rule of law, OECD standards, and national reform strategies, while fostering collaboration through a Whole-of-Society approach that encourages the participation of all stakeholders in advancing good governance and strengthening Thailand’s national competitiveness.
