Temporary Drone Restriction in Bangkok on 16 October for 2026 IMF–World Bank Annual Meetings

To support the safety and smooth running of the 2026 IMF-World Bank Annual Meetings, the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) has announced a temporary suspension of all drone operations within the VT R1 Bangkok City restricted airspace all day on 16 October 2026 (00:01-23:59, Bangkok time). The restriction covers the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) and surrounding areas.

Operators whose drone use is essential and directly related to the event are asked to:
📲 Submit Request: Apply in advance via the UAS Portal application (subject to approval by the CAAT Director-General).
✉️ Provide Details: Email the operation area, date, time, and purpose to the Metropolitan Police Bureau's Anti-Drone Center at antidrone.police@gmail.com.
🛡️ Follow all instructions and conditions given by authorized officials.

Drone enthusiasts and the public are requested to refrain from flying in restricted areas during this period. Cooperation will help keep delegates and the public safe, and avoid possible regulatory warnings or administrative action under the Air Navigation Act.

Compliance with these measures is seen as important to ensuring the security and smooth running of the meetings, as Bangkok welcomes delegates from around the world.
