Klong Jilad Pier to Be Developed as Krabi’s Maritime Hub, Connecting the Andaman Sea Tourism

The Ministry of Transport is advancing plans to establish Klong Jilad Pier as a central maritime hub for tourism and transportation in the Andaman Sea, linking Krabi with key southern coastal provinces including Phuket, Phang Nga, and Satun. Enhanced safety measures for tourists are also being enforced to ensure secure travel.

Currently, Klong Jilad Pier is undergoing infrastructure improvements, including roof installations, boarding pontoons, and additional rubber fenders for increased durability and safety. It accommodates up to 10 passenger vessels and can serve approximately 1,000 tourists per day, providing convenient access to popular destinations like Koh Lanta, Koh Phi Phi, and Koh Jum.

This development plan aims to position Klong Jilad Pier as a crucial center for local economic growth, supporting tourism and stimulating sustainable regional prosperity.
