How to Obtain a Permit for Filming in Historical Parks

For those wishing to film in Thailand’s historical parks, obtaining a permit is a crucial step that must be strictly followed. After receiving approval from the Thailand Film Office, an official request letter is sent to the Archaeology Division of the Fine Arts Department to authorize filming within park areas. If the application is submitted through the One-Stop Service Center, the permit can be issued within 3 days. However, for applications submitted outside of the center, a minimum of 5 days advance notice is required before filming.

Required Documents

  1. Copy of the coordinator’s ID card and house registration.
  2. Thai-translated film script.
  3. Story outline and scene details for filming in significant locations.
  4. Complete list of actors and crew.
  5. Approval letter from the Thailand Film Office.

Fees and Payment

  • Films and TV dramas: 10,000 THB/day, with a deposit of 2,000,000 THB.
  • Documentaries, advertisements, and music videos: 5,000 THB/day or 2,500 THB for under five hours, no deposit is required.
