Members of the Cabinet, representatives from the Thai government, ambassadors and their spouses, and delegates from embassies and consulates, as well as international organizations in Thailand wear Thai silk for a grand fashion show, as part of the annual event “Celebration of Silk, Thai Silk Road to the World” in Bangkok.
They proudly walk the catwalk in custom-made Thai silk garments, celebrating cultural exchange. Organized jointly by the Ministry of Culture, the Association of Thai Silk and Culture Promotions, and various public and private organizations, the event aims to promote Thai silk products at an international level.
It features fashion presentations showcasing national costumes from participating countries, all created in Thai silk. The garments have been designed and tailored by students from universities and vocational colleges across Thailand, combining traditional textiles with modern fashion designs.
Thai silk ispart of the national heritage, which is gaining in prominence. Efforts have been made to promote “premium Thai silk” through the development of new production techniques and to encourage the new generation to wear Thai silk, in addition to making it better known internationally.
