Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office Jiraporn Sindhuprai has invited people to join various activities in celebration of His Majesty the King’s 72nd birthday anniversary. She cited the consecration of sacred water to be presented to His Majesty on this special occasion as an important activity in July 2024.
Ms. Jiraporn serves as Chairperson of the Committee on Public Relations for he Celebrations on the Auspicious Occasion of His Majesty the King’s 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary 28th July 2024.
She explained that all provincial governors were assigned to perform ceremonies for the consecration of sacred water. On 4 July 2024, they presided over a rite for the gathering of sacred water collected from 108 important water sources nationwide.
On 7 July, each province organized a consecration rite for the collected water, followed by a wian thian rite for the blessing of the collected water on 8 July. The water vessels containing consecrated water from all provinces will be transferred to be kept at the Ministry of Interior in Bangkok on 14 July.
On 25 July, the water vessels will be transferred from the Ministry of Interior to Wat Phra Chetuphon (Temple of the Reclining Buddha) for consecration again. On 28 July, the consecrated water will be brought from Wat Phra Chetuphon to Amarin Winitchai Throne Hall in the Grand Palace, where it will be presented to His Majesty the King for use in royal ceremonies.
Ms. Jiraporn encouraged people to wear yellow shirts and commemorative pins marking the celebrations on this special occasion. Yellow represents the color of His Majesty’s birthday.
She also invited people to arrange in their premises an altar decorated with floral offerings, a portrait of His Majesty the King, a national flag, and a royal emblem flag. The arrangements are meant to show the people's loyalty to His Majesty the King on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty’s sixth-cycle (72nd) birthday anniversary.
