Thailand Welcomes Over 10 Million Tourists January 1 – April 13, 2025 Tourism Revenue Surpasses 500 Billion Baht

Thailand continues to be a top global destination for travelers. From January 1 to April 13, 2025, the country welcomed more than 10.7 million international visitors, generating over 516.6 billion baht in tourism revenue. This impressive performance highlights the ongoing strength and appeal of Thailand’s tourism sector.

The Songkran holiday, celebrated from April 6 to 12, stood out as a major highlight. During this period, daily arrivals averaged nearly 100,000—an increase of 10.73% compared to the previous week. The Maha Songkran World Water Festival 2025 in Bangkok and other major cities like Chiang Mai and Hat Yai drew large crowds, especially from key Asian markets such as China and India, both of which saw growth rates exceeding 20%. The European market also contributed, with more tourists arriving during their spring break.

The following were the top five countries of origin for foreign visitors:

  1. China (1.47 million)
  2. Malaysia (1.33 million)
  3. Russia (800,000)
  4. India (630,000)
  5. South Korea (530,000)

The Thai government continues to support the tourism industry through policies such as visa waivers, increased flight capacity, and the ongoing “Amazing Thailand 2025” campaign. These initiatives aim to attract high-quality tourists and distribute tourism income across all regions. With these efforts, Thailand is well on its way to becoming a “world-class destination” that travelers want to return to again and again.
