"Financing the Transition" Project by the Bank of Thailand and 8 Thai Commercial Banks Supports Thai Businesses Towards Sustainability

The Bank of Thailand (BOT), in collaboration with 8 leading Thai commercial banks, has launched the "Financing the Transition" Project to encourage Thai businesses, especially SMEs, to transition towards environmental sustainability. This project focuses on developing financial products tailored to business needs for sustainable investment, such as upgrading factories to be environmentally friendly or adopting clean technology in production.

A key feature of the project is the creation of a financial ecosystem that facilitates sustainable investments. The BOT has laid the groundwork by setting policies that encourage commercial banks to prioritize environmental issues, while commercial banks have developed a variety of financial products to meet the diverse needs of their customers.

The ultimate goal of the project is to push Thai businesses to transition into green businesses, benefiting the economy, society, and the environment in the long run. This is especially important in mitigating the impacts of climate change and creating new business opportunities.

The "Financing the Transition" project is a crucial step in driving Thailand towards sustainability. The Bank of Thailand and commercial banks are working together to create an environment conducive to sustainable investment, enabling Thai businesses to grow sustainably and generate value for society.
