"6 Countries, 1 Goal" - Advancing ASEAN Tourism Connectivity

Recently, Mr. Dusit Menapant, Advisor to the Thai Minister of Foreign Affairs, and his delegation met with Mr. H.E. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism of Cambodia, to discuss the creation of a unified tourism identity (Single Tourism Destination) among six ASEAN countries: Thailand, Cambodia, Brunei, Laos, Malaysia, and Vietnam, under the policy “6 Countries, 1 Goal.” The initial phase focuses on negotiations with Cambodia, with plans to expand to other countries later.

Both sides discussed establishing an efficient immigration system, visa exemptions, and Visa on Arrival (VOA) for tourists to enhance cross-border travel and regional tourism. Additionally, there will be collaborative human resource development in the tourism sector, creation of a single tourism destination, including joint heritage tourism routes, and improvements in transportation options to facilitate tourist travel.

This partnership aims to benefit the economies and regional connectivity, making travel smoother and more convenient for tourists in the future.
