Thailand is widely known as a country with long traditions and a diversity of races, religions, and cultures. Throughout the year, there are many tourist activities coming out, including festivals and traditional events.

       Arts, Culture, Food, Music, and Sports Festivals

       Today, I would like to dig into the travel calendar for the first three months of the year, which is a very interesting time to be in Thailand.

January
- Traditional festivals: Art and culture, including New Year's merit-making tradition; Chao Pho Mae Pak Nam Pho procession in Nakhon Sawan; Don Chedi Memorial in Suphan Buri; Ban Tawai wood carving in Chiang Mai; Red Cross and Thai Mukdahan Tribal Fair; Chai Mekong sweet tamarind in Mukdahan; Bo Sang Umbrella Festival and San Kamphaeng Arts and Culture in Chiang Mai; and Thai Naval Deeds in Naval Battles at Koh Chang in Trat Province.

- Food and music festivals: Nakhon Pathom Food and Fruit Festival in Nakhon Pathom Province; local food festival in Phuket and shrimp-eating festival in Bang Phae District, Ratchaburi Province.

- Sports and recreation festivals, including botanical fairs and orchid contests. Visit a large orchid garden in Nakhon Pathom Province and the Chom Bueng Marathon in Ratchaburi Province.

February
- Traditional festival of arts and culture include the tradition of parading cloth to the Buddha relics in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province; the tradition of Nob Phra Len Pleng and celebration of the World Heritage Site, in Kamphaeng Phet Province; the tradition of paying homage to Phra That Cho Hae, Phrae City, Tung Luang, Phrae Province; worshiping the Buddha Chinnarat in Phitsanulok Province; King Narai the Great, Lopburi Province; Event to worship Phra That Phanom in Nakhon Phanom Province; Goddess Lim Ko Niao Festival in Pattani Province; Pong Lang Phrae Wa Festival and Red Cross Fair in Kalasin Province; Celebration of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej in Samut Songkhram Province; Buddha's Footprint Worship Tradition in Saraburi; Cotton Flower Fair and Tamarind Festival in Loei; Sam Mok City Fair in Mae Hong Son Province; Phra Nakhon Khiri Mueang Phet Festival in Phetchaburi Province; Chiang Mai Flower and Ornamental Fair; and Satok Chang Festival, Lampang Province.

- Food and music festivals include the Hat Yai Chinese New Year Festival, the World-Class Jazz Festival in Udon Thani, and the Strawberry Fair in Samoeng District, Chiang Mai Province.

- Sports and recreation festivals include the Amazing Thailand Marathon in Bangkok, a traditional kite competition and kite show in Satun Province, and the  Thai-Myanmar Friendship Bicycle Ride, Tak Province.

March
- Festivals, traditions, arts and culture, including the Boon Phawet tradition in Roi Et Province; Chumphon Sea World Fair, Chumphon Province; Sweet Grape Week and Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, Ratchaburi Province; U Khao U Nam Event, Ang Thong province; Sisaket Tai Tribal Tradition and Lamduan Flower Festival, Sisaket Province; Bangkok International Kite Festival; Thao Suranaree Victory Day Celebration, Nakhon Ratchasima Province; Phang Nga Sea Turtle Conservation Festival; and the ASEAN Javanese Dove Competition, Yala Province.

- Food and music festivals include Sweet Grape Week and Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, Ratchaburi Province; the Phuket Food Festival; and the Pattaya Music Festival. 

- Sports and recreation festivals include the ASEAN Javanese Dove Competition, Yala Province; Phu Kha Ban Pink Flower Festival, Nan Province; and the Balloon Festival in Kanchanaburi.
