Temperatures around Thailand

Thailand is located in the tropics, below the Tropic of Cancer, so the weather is generally hot most of the year. The average temperature throughout the year is around 27° C.

Deep in the land, from the central and eastern regions up to the northern regions, temperatures vary significantly between summer and winter, and between day and night.

In summer, the maximum temperature in the afternoon is usually almost 40° C. Or more precisely, March to May, especially April, is the hottest time of the year.

In winter, the minimum temperature in the early morning can range from cold to freezing, especially from December to January. It is the coldest time of the year, during which temperatures can drop to below freezing in the north and northeast, mountainous areas, or high peaks.

For areas adjacent to the sea, including the lower eastern and southern regions, the variation in temperature during the days and seasons is less. In summer, the weather is not very hot, and in winter, the weather is not as cold as in areas deep inland.
