Details of Compensation for Tourists in Case of Loss or Unsafe in Thailand

Details of Compensation for Tourists.

For foreign tourists traveling to Thailand and who have received insecurity, loss, and meet the conditions for remediation as specified by the Foreign Tourists Assistance Fund, will be able to receive reimbursement. 

Details of remedies are indemnification or compensation to foreign tourists who are covered under the insurance policy which the Ministry of Tourism and Sports is the insurance policy holder and remedial payments for excess coverage under the insurance policy, remedial relief will vary depending on each case.

  1. Death, dismemberment, loss of sight, total permanent disability, or serious harm, including the cost of cremation outside the country of residence or the cost of repatriating the corpse or bones of the tourist back to the domicile, not exceeding 1,000,000 baht/ person.
  2. Medical expenses including domestic evacuation expenses in Thailand shall be paid as actually paid, but not exceeding 500,000 baht/person.
  3. Loss or damage from travel interruption not exceeding 2,000 baht/person/day but not exceeding 20,000 baht/person.
  4. In the case of mental rehabilitation, the remedies shall not exceed 20,000 baht/person, provided that the mental rehabilitation caused by riots, terrorism, natural disasters, or rape only does not include mental rehabilitation from other causes.
  5. Loss or damage from assault on property resulting in lack of means for living, lump sum payment of 6,000 baht/person.
