Online Corporate Registration Program (e-Registration)

The Ministry of Commerce, through the Department of Business Development, has launched the service allowing a partnership or limited company to apply for registration through the electronic juristic person registration system (e-Registration). It has continually developed the system to enhance the service’s efficiency convenience, such as adding electronic identity verification channels (e-KYC), and adding channels for representatives to prepare and apply for registration on behalf of those related to juristic persons (partners/ managing partners in the case of a partnership registration request, or initiators/ directors in the case of a limited company registration request).

Those related to such juristic persons do not need a username and password to log in and sign up. Various measures will encourage the business sector to use the system even more. For example, it set a 50% fee discount for partnerships and limited companies that registered through the e-Registration system for a period of 3 years, from 1 January 2021 to 31 December 2023.

Currently, the company has expanded its business registration via the e-Registration system to the provincial commercial offices for juristic persons that have headquarters in Chiang Mai, Nonthaburi, Chonburi, Udon Thani, Surat Thani, Samut Prakan, Pathum Thani, Nakhon Pathom, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Chachoengsao, Samut Sakhon, Phayao, Rayong, Chanthaburi, Khon Kaen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Ubon Ratchathani, Sakon Nakhon, Buriram, Kalasin, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phuket, Songkhla, and Yala.

Expanding the service and improving the system of applying for registration via the e-Registration system supports transactions through online channels, and it follows the policy of the digital government. It was found that after the opening of the e-Registration service in five pilot provinces, the number of registration of juristic persons through the e-Registration system increased by more than 45%, when comparing the same period in two years (April-October of 2021 and 2022), reflecting the availability of services and convenience, speed, saving time and cost of the business sector.
