“DBD Verified” Trust Mark in Electronic Commerce Assembly

There are many questions about “DBD Verified,”  so the Department of Business Development has provided a summary of the main points.

       The DBD Verified mark is a certification of reliability in electronic commerce issued to electronic commerce operators who wish to obtain the DBD Verified mark; when they register, they must show that they meet our qualifications to ensure reliability in electronic commerce and show that the website meets the quality assessment criteria according to the e-commerce business quality standards.  

The DBD Verified mark is classified into three levels:

1. Good level. “DBD Verified Silver” will be issued to individuals and juristic persons through qualifications such as electronic commerce registration and receiving the DBD Registered mark, sending consecutive financial statements (in case of a juristic person), and meeting the quality standards of electronic commerce business;
2. Very good level. “DBD Verified Gold” will be issued to those who register electronic commerce only as a juristic person, such as registering electronic commerce not less than one year and submitting financial statements not less than one year in a row, including meeting business quality standards;
3. “DBD Verified Platinum” will be issued to those who are registered as a juristic person and meet the qualifications, such as registering as electronic commerce for at least two years and submitting financial statements at least two years in a row. 

       There are also other qualifications, such as the website has been awarded “DBD Verified Gold” for two consecutive years. If DBD Verified Gold is not received for two consecutive years, it will be considered on a case-by-case basis. For example, the business may have received certification or management awards from associations/ agencies, including meeting business quality standards, etc.

       The difference between the DBD Registered and DBD Verified mark is that the DBD Registered mark is a trade registration for individuals and legal entities to show simply that they exist and are real e-commerce sites. On the other hand, the DBD Verified mark is a commercial registration for legal entities that must have registered the DBD Registered mark for at least six months and must have quality website management following the established criteria, so the DBD Verified mark has a higher level of reliability than the DBD Registered mark.
