Preparation for the establishment of BCG Industry Research and Development Center to bolster energy research ecosystem

The National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) and Energy Absolute Public Company Limited (EA) have joined forces to conduct research and development aimed at fostering industrial innovation for the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy model. This collaboration will facilitate an industrial-centric environment for research personnel and industrial practitioners, fostering innovation to create national product champions. This endeavor is a continuation of the industry's cutting-edge technology base, leading to groundbreaking development and positioning Thailand as a frontrunner in ASEAN with products stemming from technology and innovation to strengthen the industrial sector.

While Thailand boasts robust infrastructure and a highly experienced and skilled labor force, particularly in transport and logistics, it holds a strong automotive industry supply chain, from production to export. However, with the ongoing transformation of the automotive industry due to advancements in technology and innovation, there is a necessity to contribute to the reduction of pollution. To maintain Thailand's strength in infrastructure, technology, and innovation that supports local businesses are needed, resulting in research and development output as the Nation’s Product Champion. This includes not just research and development in battery technology, electric vehicles, and infrastructure, but also in the biochemical sector and health and medical products.

The establishment of the BCG Industry Research and Development Center is focused on industrial results in the development of industries related to the BCG Model. These include 1. batteries and electric vehicles, rail, marine transportation, and infrastructure; 2. Biochemical products; and 3. Medical and health products. All of this aims to support effective collaborative research and development in the industry and promote the holistic growth of the energy sector.
