The term “unmanned aerial vehicles” (UAVs), or "drones," refers to aircraft that do not have a human pilot onboard but are remotely controlled or autonomously operated. This term also includes other types of vehicles or robots that are remotely controlled. The term UAV is specifically used here for aircraft (flying vehicles). Anyone who wants to use UAVs in Thailand must apply for registration and permission beforehand. The details are as follows:

Documents for UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) radio equipment registration

1. Purchase receipts, with all copies signed to certify that they are true copies;
2. Tax invoices, with all copies signed;
3. A letter addressed to the Secretary-General of NBTC (Office of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission) to request registration, along with a request form for registering the UAV's radio equipment, which will be used for general use (Form Kor Tor 30), signed by the head of the unit or authorized representative. (Every copy of documents must be signed to certify that it is a true copy);
4. Application for the UAV's radio equipment registration form, which will be used temporarily with a self-certification for UAV's radio equipment for temporary use (Form Kor Tor 32);
5. Application for a license to manufacture, import, and trade radio communication equipment;
6. Application for UAV's radio equipment registration, which will be used for general use (Form Kor Tor 30);
7. Application for cancellation of the UAV's radio equipment, which will be used for general use (Form Kor Tor 31);
8. Photographs of the UAV showing the brand, model, and serial number clearly;
9. Supplier Declaration of Conformity (SDoC) from the supplier/ importer (if any);
10. Copy of power of attorney; also attach a certified copy of the national ID card of both the grantor and the grantee, and affixed with a stamp duty of 10 baht;
11. Copy of a power of attorney affixed with a stamp duty of 10 baht, a copy of the foreign passport, and a copy of the Thai ID card of the grantee (in case the foreigner does not submit it in person). Every copy of the documents must be signed to certify that it is a true copy.
