The Thai government has determined that the country will become a digital economy and society, or Digital Economy, with a national policy and plan for the development of the digital economy for the economy and society from 2018 to 2037, as well as the Digital Government Development Plan, which includes the Digital Government Services and Administration Act of 2019, which is an important mechanism to drive economic and social development in Thailand.

        Starting a business, registering a legal entity, providing business information services for business benefits, and developing business potential are among the missions of the Ministry of Commerce’s Department of Business Development, which assists entrepreneurs, particularly SME entrepreneurs, in starting a business easily, conveniently, and quickly.

        The digital development plan for the commercial economy, 2023-2027, establishes goals and directions for operations that focus on transforming work styles and providing integrated services to people with digital innovations, promoting the provision of one-stop business services to enhance business convenience and develop into a smart organization, aiming to lead government organizations in providing full digital services by 2027, and creating a driving force for sustainability.

Relevant digital technology missions include the following: 

1. Proactively driving the commercial economy with digital technology;
2. Fostering trust in doing business with digital technology;
3. Developing entrepreneurs’ potential as a driving force for business through innovation, and encouraging the business sector to adopt good governance in business operations.

        The goal is to become a leading government organization in full digital services, and to elevate the development of registration and information services using digital technology to achieve convenient, accurate, fast, stable, and secure services, as well as reliable services, meaning that the group’s digital technology is safe and has high standards and stability, instilling trust in service users.
