Driving local food industry, community enterprises, and street food with the BCG model

In addition to emphasis on the BCG Model in the field of the original food industry and new food industry, Thailand also aims to drive the local food industry, community enterprise, and street food, which is famous for tourists in Thailand.

Most of these food businesses are small entrepreneurs at the local and community level or street food entrepreneurs, but this kind of food is unique and represents the local culture, creating an identity for Thai food that cannot be found anywhere else. It is, therefore, as important to the food industry as the original food industry and new food industry.

Although this group of entrepreneurs is small, they are spread all over the country. Therefore, the main development approach focuses on promoting and raising the level of entrepreneurs so that they will be able to control production standards, make the production process more hygienic, and reduce environmental impacts. A government agency will take care of maintaining local identity, branding, linking the creative economy to support the tourism industry, creating a local marketing system to connect with tourism, creating the identity of local food products, and creating innovations for product development in terms of product, process, and service innovation and design.
