Criteria for bringing human remains into Thailand

     Bringing human remains into Thailand does not require submitting an import declaration form or simplified customs declaration form. The customs procedures are as follows:
1. Importers present the following documents to Customs officers:

 - The passport of the deceased person;
 - Air waybill, original or copy;
 - The death certificate issued by the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate in the country in which the person passed away;
 - Other relevant documents, such as a letter confirming death issued by a hospital and a death certificate issued by a local authority in which the person passed away.

2. The customs official in charge of the customs service deducts the air cargo and releases the corpse by having the importer sign the receipt as evidence and must prepare the registration book.
