Foreign consular officers or employees may apply for an extension of their visa when the permit period has expired. They must apply for a visa extension under Section 15 of the Immigration Act 1979 (diplomat, official), with the following requirements:
- They must hold a diplomatic passport or official/ service/ special passport or United Nations laissez-passer, or hold an ordinary passport with a non-immigrant visa for the performance of official duties, or be exempt from a visa under agreements made by that country with the Thai government;
- They must be certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

- TM.7 form;
- Copy of passport;
- Certificate from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
