Renewing passports and transferring stamps

Renewing passports and transferring stamps

        One of the important things for travelers or foreigners wishing to travel to Thailand or any other country is a passport, as it is required to identify the person while abroad.

        Therefore, before traveling, you must always check whether your passport is valid or if it has expired. If the passport must be renewed or replaced and the stamps must be transferred to a new passport due to its expiration or running out of pages, the following documents are required:

 - Application;

 - Certificate from the embassy;

 - Old passport with a copy;

 - New passport with a copy;

 - Copy of the last entry stamp;

 - Copy of the pages with visa (if applicable);

 - Copy of the last extension permit stamp/ TM.6 immigration card (department card) with a copy.

       Concerning the procedures, if the foreigner submits an application for an extension of residence or an application for residence in the Kingdom, he or she must contact the relevant department according to the type of visa or extension of residence. In the case of having previously applied for an extension of stay in the Kingdom, application can be made at the immigration checkpoint where the last application for extension of stay in the Kingdom was made.
