High-protein insect markets are gaining traction in Europe, the United States, and the Asia-Pacific region.

Did you know that insects are becoming a "superfood"? Insects meet the needs of health-conscious consumers worldwide due to their high protein content and comprehensive nutrients. They also provide a viable solution to the food scarcity crisis.

Mr. Visith Limluecha, Vice Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, revealed that the consumption of insects in various forms is rapidly increasing, especially in the Asia-Pacific region, where it is experiencing exponential growth. Thailand is the world's leading producer of crickets, with over 25,000 farms capable of producing up to 75,000 tons annually. The export of crickets and insect products is continuously expanding, whether in frozen form, powder, or processed into various foods such as sausages and hamburgers. This reflects significant opportunities in the growing health food market.

If Thailand can push for systematic production and processing of insects to meet international standards, the opportunities to penetrate global markets will become clearer. Insects are not only a sustainable option for consumers but also a golden opportunity for generating income for the country in the future.
