SRT Invites Travelers on Historic Steam Train Journey to Chachoengsao

The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) is organizing a special steam locomotive excursion train service No. 903/904 on the Bangkok–Chachoengsao–Bangkok route, inviting the public to relive the charm of classic railway travel while commemorating an important national occasion. The event aims to allow Thai people to express loyalty and gratitude while enjoying a nostalgic travel experience aboard historic steam locomotives that preserve their original
character and heritage.

The special train will depart from Bangkok Railway Station (Hua Lamphong) at 8:10 a.m. and arrive at Chachoengsao Junction at 9:50 a.m., giving passengers approximately six hours to explore the province before departing for Bangkok at
4:30 p.m. and arriving back at 6:10 p.m. Additional boarding and drop-off stops include Makkasan, Khlong Tan, and Hua Mak stations. Travelers can freely design their own trips in Chachoengsao, whether visiting sacred sites such as Wat
Sothon Wararam Worawihan, Wat Leng Hok Yi, and Pun Tao Kong Shrine, or strolling through Ban Mai 100-Year Market to experience riverside culture, local cuisine, and traditional souvenirs.

The journey will feature Pacific-class steam locomotives No. 824 and 825, historic post-World War II engines carefully maintained by the Thonburi locomotive depot and operated only on important national occasions. Round-trip third-class tickets are priced at 329 baht, while air-conditioned cars, including OTOP and JR-West sleeper coaches, cost 799 baht with snacks and beverages included. In addition, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Chachoengsao Office is offering optional One Day Trip programs on 3 June 2026, featuring cultural, spiritual, and farm-tourism activities. Reservations are available through the D-Ticket system, railway stations nationwide, and travel package bookings via Tangjai Travel
