Press Briefing on the Thailand–Cambodia Border Situation by Mr. Jirayu Huangsap, Spokesperson for the Prime Minister’s Office, 29 July 2025, 11.00 hr

Jirayu Huangsap, Government Spokesperson, stated today (29 July 2025) at 11.00 hr that the Thai military commanders from the First and Second Army Areas are meeting to review operational details and prepare for upcoming coordination discussions following the recent ceasefire agreement between Thailand and Cambodia.

Scheduled Regional Border Committee meetings that were supposed to be overseen by the First Army Area, Second Army Area, and Royal Thai Navy have been delayed while security conditions are being evaluated.

Even though the ceasefire officially began at midnight on July 28, 2025, there have been reports of violations. Thai military officials have emphasized their commitment to protecting national sovereignty and will keep troops in position as a safety measure.

Thailand plans to officially inform international observers, including China and the United States, so they can document and confirm the situation, especially any fighting that continues after the ceasefire took effect.

Thailand reaffirms that its operations are conducted in accordance with humanitarian principles and international norms. There is clear and widespread evidence that Thailand has been subjected to continuous aggression.

In the past few days, there have been over 500 million instances of information operations (IO) originating from Cambodia, largely orchestrated by scammers spreading disinformation and fake news.
