"James Bond" Makes One Final Royal Journey

The vehicle chosen to carry HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha on her final journey to the Grand Palace is no ordinary car.

Known affectionately as "James Bond," this grey Volkswagen T4 — registration 1ด-0929 — once served as a royal working vehicle for the beloved King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great. Preserved in its original factory condition, it embodies his lifelong philosophy of simplicity and sufficiency. 

That same humble vehicle now carries his granddaughter on her final journey feels both deeply symbolic and profoundly moving.
