The Department of Climate Change and Environment has collaborated with GIZ, a German organization, and its network partners to host the second workshop on "Enhancing the Master Plan for Climate Change Mitigation." The event focuses on designing financial mechanisms to mobilize global funds, supporting greenhouse gas reduction, and adapting to climate crises. Following COP29, developed countries are required to mobilize at least $1.3 trillion by 2035.
The updated master plan emphasizes three key areas: reducing greenhouse gas emissions through promoting clean industries and energy, adapting to impacts such as enhancing flood and drought warning systems and community support, and fostering participation from the public and private sectors to drive green policies.
Thailand will leverage foreign funding to develop carbon-reducing technologies, build an economy resilient to climate crises, and progress towards a "low-carbon society" by 2050, as outlined in its roadmap, ensuring no one is left behind.
