Thailand Holds Second Full-Dress Rehearsal of Royal Barge Procession Ahead of 6 November Ceremony

Members of the public, including Thai and foreign visitors and media representatives, gathered along the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok today (28 October) to view the second full-dress rehearsal of the Royal Barge Procession ahead of the royal journey and ceremony scheduled for 6 November.

The procession began moving from the area near the Rama VIII Bridge at 15.00 hr, with the rehearsal concluding at Wat Arun Ratchawararam (Temple of Dawn). The 2026 Royal Barge Procession will be arranged into five lines with three rows, featuring 52 barges manned by 2,200 Royal Thai Navy personnel.

The rehearsal is part of preparations for the Royal Barge Procession on 6 November, when Their Majesties the King and Queen are scheduled to travel by water to present Kathin robes to Buddhist monks at Wat Arun Ratchawararam. The Royal Kathin Robe Offering Ceremony will be held on the auspicious occasion of Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana’s fourth-cycle (48th) birthday anniversary, on 3 June 2026.

Members of the public can watch the Royal Barge Procession from designated viewing areas along both banks of the river, between Krung Thon Bridge and Wat Arun Ratchawararam. The Royal Thai Navy has published the procession route at the link below: https://www.navy.mi.th/4cbbzd9ucqs9.
