Thailand and EU Advance FTA Negotiations, Aim to Conclude by 2026
Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister Suphajee Suthumpun has summarized the outcomes of the 10th Negotiating Round for the EU-Thailand Free Trade Agreement (FTA), held in Phuket from 28 September to 6 October 2026, noting significant progress.
The two sides made substantial headway in several areas, including Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) Measures, energy, raw materials, and Rules of Origin. Discussions on market access and policy issues are still ongoing.
She said the negotiations are now approaching the final stage, and both sides must resolve the key outstanding issues to ensure the agreement is balanced, fair, and mutually beneficial.
The next round will focus on market access, policy issues, and the remaining topics, as Thailand and the EU work to conclude the negotiations within 2026.
