Their Majesties the King and the Queen attended an official welcoming ceremony at the National Assembly Building in Hanoi on September 15, 2026, during their State Visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Their Majesties traveled by royal motorcade from Fairmont Hanoi and were received by General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam To Lam and his spouse Ngo Phuong Ly.
During the ceremony, His Majesty the King and the Vietnamese President proceeded to the central hall podium to receive a salute from the honor guard, accompanied by the Thai Royal Anthem and the Vietnamese national anthem. His Majesty then inspected the honor guard, who delivered a traditional greeting in Vietnamese wishing His Majesty perfect health.
Afterward, Their Majesties were introduced to Vietnamese officials, members of the Thai delegation, and ASEAN ambassadors and chargés d’affaires accredited to Vietnam. They also observed a march-past by the honor guard.
Their Majesties then held a royal conversation with the President and his spouse inside the National Assembly Building. This engagement is a key part of Their Majesties' state visit to Vietnam, taking place from September 14 to 16, 2026, at the invitation of the Vietnamese President.
This state visit builds on recent high-level diplomatic engagements, following the Vietnamese President's official visit to Thailand earlier this year. During that trip, the President was granted a royal audience with Their Majesties at the Amphorn Sathan Residential Palace in Bangkok on May 28, 2026.
