Thailand hosts CineAsia 2025 as global film industry gathers in Bangkok

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) officially opened CineAsia 2025, held from 8–11 December at ICONSIAM’s Icon Cineconic and True Icon Hall. Now in its fourth year in Thailand, the event underscores the country’s growing influence in the global film industry and its commitment to expanding film tourism under the ‘New Thailand’ vision.

Hosted by Major Cineplex Group in partnership with Film Expo Group, CineAsia 2025 draws more than 3,500 participants from 50 countries, including filmmakers, investors and leading studios. The event features film-technology exhibitions, product showcases, equipment demonstrations and expert-led sessions, positioning Thailand as a key platform for regional collaboration and creative-economy development.

TAT Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications, Mr. Nithee Seeprae, highlighted that CineAsia aligns with Thailand’s shift toward high-value tourism. Through the global campaign “Unforgettable Experience: Healing is the New Luxury”, Thailand aims to elevate its cultural presence and attract visitors seeking meaningful travel experiences. He noted that international film productions bring Thai stories and landscapes to global audiences, strengthening the nation’s soft power.

Thailand continues to rise as a world-class filming destination, supported by notable international productions such as Jurassic World, The White Lotus Season 3, The Beach and James Bond, as well as recent Thai box-office hits including How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies and A Useful Ghost.

Looking ahead, Thailand is enhancing production infrastructure, talent development and incentive measures to attract more international productions. With diverse locations, skilled crews and modern facilities, the country aims to further solidify its position as a premier hub for global filmmaking.
