The Thai Cabinet has approved the “Riyadh Declaration,” which will be adopted at the 21st General Conference of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) held from 23–27 November 2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The document outlines international cooperation commitments aligned with UNIDO’s mission and follows required government procedures for endorsement.
The declaration reaffirms the shared vision of member states to promote inclusive and sustainable industrial development while addressing major global challenges such as geopolitical instability, resource shortages, global warming, climate-related losses, and post-pandemic supply chain disruptions. It highlights three core priorities:
- Transparent, fair, and sustainable supply chains
- Using innovation to reduce hunger and enhance local economic value
- Accelerating renewable energy and improving industrial energy efficiency to cut emissions.
The declaration also emphasizes the role of women in industry, long-term cooperation toward industrial development for 2050, and calls for member states to allocate sufficient resources to support UNIDO’s mission.
Endorsing the declaration reflects Thailand’s commitment as a UNIDO member to strengthening its industrial sector, promoting environmentally sustainable development, and supporting the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The government affirms readiness to work with international partners and UNIDO to advance sustainable industry, competitive production, and efficient energy use—enhancing Thailand’s role in the global economic arena.
