Thailand Emerges as Southeast Asia’s High-Potential Gaming Powerhouse

Thailand is rapidly positioning itself as one of Southeast Asia’s most commercially promising gaming markets, with more than 58 million players, strong creator influence, and an expanding role in the digital economy, according to a new report by Ampverse.

In its latest study, The Ampverse Playbook: Unlocking the Value of Gaming in Southeast Asia, the company identified Thailand as one of the region’s most advanced gaming markets, driven not only by scale but also by high engagement, mature infrastructure, and increasing monetisation potential.

Across Southeast Asia, the gaming audience reached around 290 million in 2025, with the market valued at approximately US$6.6 billion. The broader ecosystem is projected to grow to US$14 billion by 2030, highlighting the sector’s rising importance to the regional digital economy.

Thailand stands out for its exceptional reach, with over 58 million gamers in a population of 72 million—making it one of the most deeply engaged gaming markets in the region. The report noted that this combination of scale and engagement presents strong commercial opportunities for both brands and developers.

The report highlighted that gaming behaviour in Thailand is heavily shaped by creators and community networks, with users engaging through livestreams, social media, and content platforms as much as through gameplay itself. This reflects a broader regional shift, where gaming has evolved into a mainstream channel spanning content, communities, and marketing.

Thailand’s strong esports ecosystem and growing demand for premium gaming experiences further enhance its commercial appeal, making it a key testing ground for brands and developers seeking long-term growth in the region.
