Thailand Elevates Quality and Wellness Tourism Through National Standards Recognition and Strategic Health Tourism Partnership

Thailand is reinforcing its position as a world-class tourism destination by advancing quality tourism standards and strengthening its wellness tourism sector, in line with the Government’s “Value over Volume” policy that prioritizes quality, high-value, and sustainable tourism.

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports, through the Department of Tourism, organized the 2026 Thai Tourism Standards Recognition Ceremony to honor tourism operators, homestays, communities, and tourist attractions that have successfully achieved Thai tourism standards certification. A total of 694 certified entities received recognition for meeting nationally and internationally recognized standards across accommodation, tourism services, tour operations, tourist attractions, ASEAN tourism standards, international standards, and global sustainability benchmarks.

Representing Minister of Tourism and Sports Mr. Surasak Phancharoenworakul, Mr. Pasakorn Rangsiwatanasak, Secretary to the Minister of Tourism and Sports, presided over the ceremony and presented certification marks to recipients. The event highlighted the importance of the Thai Tourism Standard symbol, known as the “Chang chu nguang roeng ra,” as a trusted mark of quality that enhances visitor confidence while promoting sustainable tourism development and community-based economic growth.
