Thailand’s primary export markets include China (31% of total agricultural exports), followed by ASEAN (15%), Japan (11%), and South Korea (3%). Exports to India, Australia, and Singapore have also shown significant growth at 34%, 23%, and 10%, respectively.

Key agricultural exports for August 2024 include :

  1. Fresh, chilled, and frozen fruits: $604 million (21% growth)
  2. Rice: $562 million (41% growth)
  3. Rubber: $497 million (9% growth)
  4. Poultry: $392 million (6% growth)
  5. Tapioca products: $260 million (2% growth)

Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has instructed relevant agencies to address obstacles and ease conditions for Thai exporters, aiming to secure a place among the world’s top five agricultural exporters next year.

The government is committed to advancing FTAs that boost agricultural exports, with agreements in place with 18 trade partners to reduce or eliminate tariffs on various agricultural goods.

This growth in the agricultural sector reflects Thailand’s global market potential, offering new opportunities for Thai entrepreneurs and solidifying Thailand’s leadership as ASEAN’s top agricultural exporter.
