Thailand and Yangjiang (หยางเจียง) Strengthen Education and Research Ties, Advancing Marine and High-Tech Collaboration.

Thailand’s Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) has held discussions with representatives from Yangjiang Education Bureau, led by the Vice Mayor of Yangjiang, to enhance bilateral cooperation in education and research. The talks focused on expanding joint academic programs, faculty and student exchanges, and Chinese language education, alongside promoting collaboration in advanced technology fields through expert exchanges between the two countries.

MHESI emphasized its commitment to deepening cooperation with Yangjiang, a coastal city along the South China Sea known for its strengths in fisheries, marine science, food processing, and industrial design. To drive this partnership, Burapha (บูรพา) University has been designated as the lead institution, leveraging its expertise in marine sciences, aquaculture, fisheries technology, oceanography, and aquatic environmental studies to spearhead joint research and knowledge development.

The Yangjiang delegation expressed strong interest in expanding collaboration across multiple levels, including basic education, vocational training, and Chinese language instruction, to enhance mutual understanding and human resource development. The meeting also laid the groundwork for future concrete cooperation, with an invitation extended to Thai representatives to visit Yangjiang for further discussions, marking a significant step toward long-term Thailand–China collaboration in education, science, and innovation.
