Thailand and China Forge Strategic Tourism Partnership to Drive Economic Growth and Unity

Following the high-level diplomatic visit of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to Thailand, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has unveiled a visionary strategic roadmap to solidify tourism as a cornerstone of Thailand–China relations. This ambitious agenda supports Thailand’s 2026 goal of welcoming 4.72 million Chinese visitors and generating over 260 billion Baht in revenue. By positioning tourism as a strategic enabler, the initiative seeks to deepen people-to-people connections and foster sustainable prosperity for both nations.

At the heart of this cooperation is the "Thailand–China Tourism Partnership 2026–2030," which focuses on elevating travel experiences to a premium, high-value level. Key initiatives include the development of health and wellness tourism under the "Healing is the New Luxury" concept, alongside sports, gastronomy, and pop culture-driven travel. The roadmap also emphasizes seamless travel facilitation, such as expanding air routes to secondary Chinese cities and utilizing AI-driven marketing to reach discerning travelers. Grounded in the heartfelt spirit of "Zhong Tai Yi Jia Qin" (China and Thailand are one family), this partnership ensures that safety, quality, and mutual cultural appreciation remain at the forefront of Thailand’s world-class tourism offerings.
