Thai Government Advances the EV Hub Initiative: The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Collaborates with the Ministry of Industry

The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) and the Ministry of Industry have joined forces to advance Thailand's electric vehicle (EV) industry to a global level. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) and the Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) to elevate EV standards, along with the launch of the Thailand Electric Vehicle Centre of Excellence (TECE) which will serve as a hub for EV technology research and development.

This signing responds to the government's policy aimed at positioning Thailand as the largest EV Hub in the Asia-Pacific region. The goals include developing human resources, transitioning technology, and creating innovations in the EV industry to make Thailand a leader in this field.

Both ministries are committed to jointly supporting the development of EV technology and standards, aiming for Thailand to become a production centre for electric vehicles in the ASEAN region.

This project is a significant step for Thailand's development towards becoming a regional EV hub and enhancing global competitiveness through integration between the public and private sectors, driving Thailand to sustainable leadership in the EV industry.
