TAT marks Global Wellness Day 2026 with Thai wellness experiences nationwide

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) marked Global Wellness Day 2026, held globally under the #JoyMagenta theme, by presenting Thailand as a leading destination for wellness and hospitality. TAT supported key activities in Ko Samui and Bangkok, while hotels and wellness operators across Thailand also joined the global movement through wellness-led experiences.

Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, said, “Wellness is an important part of Thailand’s tourism direction. Through Healing is the New Luxury, TAT is presenting travel experiences that help visitors reconnect with themselves, nature, and local culture. Global Wellness Day 2026 allows Thailand to show how wellness can be part of everyday travel while creating wider benefits for destinations, entrepreneurs, and communities.”

In Ko Samui, TAT is supporting Samui Jump for Wellness 2026, taking place from 12 to 14 June 2026 in collaboration with the Samui Spa Association. Activities such as Jump Exercise and Aqua Aerobic promote physical and mental well-being while supporting the island’s wellness tourism profile.

The initiative reflects TAT’s work with local partners to connect wellness trends with destination development. It supports tourism activity on the island, strengthens cooperation with local entrepreneurs and communities, and presents Ko Samui as a destination for active, restorative, and nature-based travel.

In Bangkok, TAT supported activities at Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort on 13 June, centred on Eastern wisdom and joyful living. Thai and international participants explored traditional healing knowledge, Thai botanicals, mindful movement and modern longevity practices in a riverside setting on the Chao Phraya River.

The activities focused on inner balance, Thai herbs and movement. A herbal tea blending workshop introduced selected Thai botanical ingredients and local sources, while movement-based sessions included Muay Thai, Tai Chi, yoga, and sound healing.

Together with wellness activities held by hotels and operators in other parts of the country, TAT’s participation in Global Wellness Day 2026 reinforces Thailand’s wellness tourism positioning through experiences rooted in culture, nature, ingredients, hospitality, and place.
