TAT and Sanya (ซานย่า) Strengthen Tourism Ties with Two-Way Travel Initiative

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with the Sanya Tourism Promotion Board to enhance Thailand–China tourism cooperation. The agreement focuses on proactive collaboration across multiple areas, including boosting bilateral travel, conducting joint international marketing campaigns, and developing interconnected tourism products and routes. A key highlight is the exchange of KOLs and influencers to amplify digital storytelling and inspire travel between the two destinations.

Both sides also discussed future cooperation, particularly in improving travel connectivity and facilitating smoother travel experiences to support the continued growth of tourist flows. Sanya, a leading international beach destination in Hainan (ไห่หนาน), serves as a strategic gateway linking China’s tourism market with ASEAN. Meanwhile, Thailand remains well-positioned to attract high-value travelers, including millennials, families, and premium health and lifestyle segments seeking wellness, cultural, and lifestyle experiences under the “Amazing Thailand, The Journey Your Heart Leads” concept, alongside the “Trusted Thailand” initiative to build traveler confidence.

This LOI marks a significant step in strengthening long-term tourism collaboration between Thailand and Sanya. By advancing a Two-way Tourism approach, both parties aim to stimulate mutual travel demand, enhance people-to-people connections, and drive sustainable growth in the Thailand–China tourism market.
