Suvarnabhumi’s SAT-1 Terminal wins UNESCO award for its exceptional exterior

Suvarnabhumi International Airport’s Midfield Satellite Terminal 1 (SAT-1) won the Prix Versailles “Special award for an Exterior” in the “World’s most beautiful airport 2024” competition, sponsored by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), for its exceptional exterior architecture and design.

The award was received by Kerati Kijmanawat, Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT) President, during the awards ceremony at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris.

The terminal was built in accordance with sustainable design principles by using materials that would help save energy and allow natural light to enter the building.
