Bangkok is set to host a landmark celebration as the Siam district transforms into a global Songkran destination during the “Siam Songkran Festival 2026,” taking place from April 10–15, 2026. The event is spearheaded by the Property Management of Chulalongkorn University (PMCU), in collaboration with leading private-sector partners and supported by the Pathumwan District Office, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration. This large-scale initiative aims to elevate the Siam–Samyan–Banthat Thong area into a “Global Songkran Landmark,” blending Thai cultural heritage with modern lifestyle experiences and international entertainment.
The festival will feature multiple interconnected zones designed to cater to diverse audiences. Highlights include a water-themed entertainment space in Siam Square, a vibrant street food and music zone along Banthat Thong, and a beach-style relaxation area at Chamchuri Square. Across these areas, visitors can enjoy water activities, live concerts, cultural performances, and curated experiences that reflect Thailand’s soft power. Major shopping and lifestyle destinations throughout the district will also host themed events, contributing to a seamless and immersive celebration.
Organizers expect the festival to attract millions of local and international visitors, boosting tourism and generating significant economic impact. The collaboration covers over two million square meters and involves more than 10,000 businesses, with an anticipated increase in visitor traffic of at least 40 percent. Comprehensive measures on safety, traffic management, and environmental sustainability have been put in place to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience, reinforcing Bangkok’s position as a world-class festival destination.
