Ranong Positioned as Thailand’s Leading Wellness Hub with Hot Spring Tourism Drive and 2026 Revenue Growth Target

Tourism Authority of Thailand, Ranong Office and the Ranong Provincial Public Relations Office strengthen the efforts to position Ranong as a leading wellness destination to actively promote the province’s tourism potential. The initiative aligns with the government’s policy to elevate secondary cities while enhancing Thailand’s Soft Power through health and wellness tourism.

As part of its wellness tourism strategy, the province continues to highlight its unique natural strengths. The province’s identity as a “mineral water metropolis” is supported by its abundance of natural hot springs. A key highlight is the renowned Raksawarin Hot Spring, which is being developed as a flagship attraction with the potential to become a model “Spa Town” in the European sense, or an “Onsen Town” inspired by Japan. This approach aims to transform Ranong into a high-value wellness destination while generating sustainable income for local communities.

In parallel, the Department of Tourism is working to connect hot spring sites across nearby provinces into a network of seven “Wellness Routes,” designed to meet international standards. The initiative also focuses on enhancing local capacity by equipping personnel with skills in health and wellness services to better serve international visitors. Building on strong momentum, tourism in Ranong continues to show positive growth, reflecting increasing interest from both domestic and international visitors. The government remains committed to advancing infrastructure development, improving service standards, and facilitating investment to position Ranong as a world-class wellness hub.
