Pushing Thailand’s Halal Industry as the Center of ASEAN

Thailand's halal industry is rapidly growing, with the government focusing on expanding the market for food and related products. Emphasizing Thailand's potential in food security and a strong workforce, the goal is to develop into ASEAN's central hub.

The establishment of the National Halal Industry Committee marks an important beginning. The Prime Minister and the Minister of Industry have met with leaders of Muslim countries who have shown interest in halal food and wish to invest in Thailand. The four-year action plan for developing Thailand's halal industry (2024-2027) aims to elevate the industry to become the ASEAN Halal Hub by 2027. This aligns with the IGNITE THAILAND policy, which aims to expand the industrial sector's GDP and create more jobs in the industry.

The Thai Halal Industry Center will drive policies and development plans for Thailand's halal industry, upgrading technology and production innovation, focusing on creating added value for products alongside halal standards and other relevant standards.

Promoting Thailand's halal industry to become the ASEAN hub by 2024 will increase awareness and acceptance of Thai halal products, positively impacting related businesses and significantly boosting economic growth.
