Prime Minister and Finance Minister Srettha Thavisin has presented to heads of various government agencies and media representatives the Royal Emblem in commemoration of "The Celebrations on the Auspicious Occasion of His Majesty the King's 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary 28th July 2024."
The presentation ceremony took place at Santi Maitri Building, Government House, on 26 January 2024. It aimed to publicize this special occasion in honor of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua.
Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office Puangpet Chunlaiad, who chairs the Committee on Public Relations for the Celebrations, said that all television channels have cooperated in placing the Royal Emblem in a corner of the television screen. Radio, online, and print media have also launched public relations campaigns to make this occasion better known among the general public.
Prime Minister Srettha said that the Government had received royal permission to organize year-long celebrations to commemorate this auspicious occasion. His Majesty also graciously granted the Royal Emblem commemorating the sixth-cycle (72nd) birthday anniversary.
He said that government offices, the private sector, and the general public have been joining hands in various activities and projects to accord the highest honor to His Majesty. They have also been invited to arrange in their premises an altar decorated with floral offerings, a portrait of His Majesty the King, a national flag, and a royal emblem flag.
The year-long celebrations began on 1 January and will continue until 31 December 2024. In the Royal Emblem, His Majesty the King’s initials – the Thai letters Wo Po Ro – are placed at the center of the emblem, under the Great Crown of Victory (Phra Maha Phichai Mongkut).
