On 2 January 2026, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, accompanied by Lieutenant General Adul Boonthumjaroen, Deputy Minister of Defense, visited Surin Province to monitor the security situation along the Thai–Cambodian border at the Phu Luang Operational Base in Kap Choeng District and the frontline area near Prasat Khana. Local authorities and security officials provided briefings on the latest developments of the situation.
During the visit, the Prime Minister conveyed his New Year wishes, gave encouragement to frontline troops, and presented them with morale-boosting supplies. He thanked military personnel for their joint operations in safeguarding national security and sovereignty, and emphasized close coordination to strengthen public safety and restore confidence among border communities.
