Phuket is gearing up to host the Phuket Peranakan Festival 2025, elevating the event to the level of an international carnival after winning the Asia Pinnacle Awards. The festival will feature more than 20 parade processions, over 2,000 participants, and accommodations for more than 15,000 visitors.
This year, the parade route has been updated, starting from the Old Town district and moving toward the Clock Tower and the end of Saphan Hin Pier. The highlight will be performances from Peranakan communities in both Thailand and the Malay Peninsula, as Phuket declares itself the global hub for Peranakan celebrations.
The festival will also blend contemporary art in preparation for the Thailand Biennale Phuket 2025. A special feature will be the unveiling of Phuket’s signature Hokkien noodle dish, aiming for a Guinness World Record, with support from the local community, restaurants, and over 200 chef associations. The event will take place from June 20–22, 2025, and is expected to generate at least 400 million baht in revenue.
