Application for change of visa type of foreigners - For an investment of not less than 10 million baht (Code B)

         Investors who come to do business in Thailand can apply for or request to change the type of visa if they are making an investment of not less than 10 million baht (Code B) with the following supporting documents.

1. TM.86 only for foreigners who have Tourist Visa or Transit Visa to change the type of visa, or TM.87 form only for foreigners who do not have a visa but are allowed to stay in the Kingdom, and P.30, PP.30 and  PP.90 to apply for a visa.     

2. Copy of passport (such as personal information page, entry stamp, residence permit stamp (if any)), and departure card (TM.6).     

3. 1 4X6 cm or 2-inch photo.     

4. Fee of 2,000 baht. 

5. Evidence of investment by purchasing or renting (for a period of not less than 3 years) of a condominium unit from relevant agencies or government agencies at the purchase or lease price of not less than 10 million baht. The evidence must show the following:

5.1 First-hand title deed and must be in the name of the sole applicant;

5.2 A copy of the condominium sale contract between the applicant and the company or project and a copy of the registration showing the ownership of the condominium from the government or related agencies; 

5.3 Fee payment receipt from the local land office; 

5.4 Evidence of foreign currency transfer into Thailand; 

5.5 House registration;     

5.6 Price appraisal from the land office.

6. Evidence of investment by depositing fixed money with a bank registered in Thailand; Thai nationals must hold more than 50% of not less than 10 million baht. The evidence must show the following: 

6.1 Copy of proof of foreign currency transfer into Thailand;

6.2 Certificate of deposit holding from a bank registered in Thailand;

6.3 A copy of deposit proof, or a copy of a fixed passbook showing the name of the applicant alone.   

7. Evidence of investment by purchasing government or state enterprise bonds of no less than 10 million baht; evidence will be a copy of the government or state enterprise bonds. 

8. Evidence of total investment under (5), (6) or (7) not less than 10 million baht.

         However, permission will be granted for no more than 90 days, provided that the applicant has more than 15 days remaining  on their visa. If the applicant is overstaying, an application cannot be filed. 

         The application may be renewed, and the applicant must come and do it in person every time. All pages of documents must be signed  by the applicant to certify. Documents must be in the name of the applicant alone, and all original documents must be submitted to the competent official.
