Medical Council Elevates Thai Medical Standards with Courses on Law, Management, Technology, and Communication

The Medical Council of Thailand is advancing the standards of Thai healthcare by offering courses that enhance knowledge in law, management, technology, and communication. These initiatives aim to equip medical professionals with comprehensive skills to efficiently care for the public. The council has also signed MOUs with multiple organizations to collaboratively solve problems in an integrated manner.

Air Chief Marshal Dr. Ittaporn Kanacharoen, Secretary-General of the Medical Council, emphasized that the council not only oversees medical professionalism but also recognizes the importance of supplementary knowledge such as law, management, personnel management, digital technology, and communication. These are essential for physicians to effectively manage and collaborate with various organizations.

The Medical Council has launched several courses to meet the needs of the medical sector, such as:

  1. Medical Governance Course for Senior Executives
  2. Medical Leadership Course aimed at preparing young doctors
  3. Prosecutor and Physician Course, designed to foster mutual understanding between prosecutors and doctors in medical litigation
  4. Medical Law Course, set to open in December
  5. MDX (Medical Digital Transformation) Course, providing medical executives with knowledge of digital technology
  6. Medical Communication Course, enabling physicians to understand media functions and appropriate communication in today's society

Additionally, the Medical Council has established a "Volunteer Medical Team," which now has over 2,000 physicians who have treated more than 300,000 patients across 84 projects nationwide in collaboration with the "Medical Governance Foundation."

Developing courses in law, management, technology, and communication will strengthen the capabilities of medical personnel, enabling them to work more efficiently in all aspects. It will also foster understanding and cooperation with other agencies to address issues for the benefit of the public.
