House Dissolution Does Not Affect National Security Operations

Air Chief Marshal Prapas Sonjaidee, Director of the Joint Press Center, affirmed that the dissolution of the House of Representatives does not affect the government’s authority to carry out national security duties. He said the caretaker administration retains full legal power, while border tensions remain high following Cambodian attacks. Thailand’s military response is conducted strictly within international law and the principle of self-defense, targeting only imminent military threats to protect civilians and national sovereignty.

Martial law remains in place in border areas, and all branches of the armed forces continue operating effectively. The Joint Press Center will continue providing regular updates to ensure the public receives accurate and verified information.

He stressed that Thailand seeks peace but must take lawful measures to safeguard its people. The public is advised to rely on official sources, avoid restricted areas, and refrain from sharing content that could endanger personnel in the field.
